Community steps up to help put good food on tables

food bvo stackPress Release – Beaver Valley Outreach and Foodland Thornbury are pleased to announce that they have raised approximately $3,500 to help local families and individuals put good food on their tables since BVO’s Good Neighbours program launched last October.

For almost four months, cashiers at Foodland have been asking patrons to add 25¢ to their grocery bill. These funds have been used to “buy” Foodland Gift Cards pre-loaded with sums of money and distributed by BVO to people in the community who need help purchasing non-taxable grocery items – discretely and without stigma.

BVO and Thornbury Foodland would like to thank the community for its generous support of this important program, and ask everyone to keep the momentum going by adding 25¢ to their Foodland order.
