BVO’s Bruce Street building sold

And then there was one.

Beaver Valley Outreach announced that its current headquarters at 64 Bruce St. South has been sold

“Earlier this year, after careful consideration of the options available to us to overcome our space, accessibility and efficiency issues, we seized the opportunity to purchase the former Piper’s property on King Street,” said BVO Executive Director Carolyn Letourneau. “Now that our current building is sold, we are able to move forward with renovating the new space to suit our needs. In the next couple of weeks, we will be choosing a contractor, and hope to be moved in just after Easter in 2018.”

No sale price for the old building was announced.

The sale of BVO’s current building – mortgage-free and owned by the organization – will help to considerably pay down a mortgage required for the purchase of the King Street property, according to BVO, which has launched a relocation fundraising campaign

The goal is to raise $250,000, to further pay down this mortgage and renovate the new site. No details on the purchase price or mortgage were released.

“This is such an exciting move for BVO,” said Letourneau. “We are thrilled about the future improvements in work space for our volunteers and staff, as well as the added convenience that customers and visitors to BVO will experience.”
